Choosing an Italian Language School

Italian Language courses can represent a substantial financial investment, so you need to make sure you will receive some good quality, well targeted teaching in exchange, which is suited to your learning style and needs.

Different schools will suit different people better. Whilst we only offer private tuition for individuals or small groups because we believe it allows for more focused teaching and faster learning, some students will enjoy the social aspect of a larger class and the extra-curricular activities that can be organised by schools with a large number of students.

When choosing whether to join an Italian language school or whether to opt for private italian lessons, the best thing to do is to make a list of what is most important for you, and then to check whether the school or lessons can provide this. For example:
* If learning the language fast is your highest priority, or if you have special requirements, you should be looking for a maximum of 6 students per class or individual lessons to get the most out of the course.
* If you are on holiday and just want a relaxed time, maybe a small class size is not so important - but you could look at whether the school organises social outings, cultural events, dinners, internet access etc..
* If you find it difficult to organise your stay in Florence, ensure that the school can help you with issues such as accommodation & travel plans This is probably easier for a large language school with more resources than it is for a smaller italian language school.
